Green plants exclude the red and brown algae, the fungi, archaea, bacteria and animals. Green plants have cell walls with cellulose and obtain most of their energy from sunlight via photosynthesis by primary chloroplasts, derived from endosymbiosis with cyanobacteria. Their chloroplasts contain chlorophylls a and b, which gives them their green color.

NOTE: Endosymbiosis a type of symbiosis in which one organism lives inside the other, thetwo typically behaving as a single organism.

Some plants are parasitic and have lost the ability to produce normal amounts of chlorophyll or to photosynthesize. Plants are also characterized by sexual reproduction, modular and indeterminate growth, and an alternation of generations, although asexual reproduction is also common.

The study of plants is Known as BOTANY,  and is also called plant biology. It is sometimes called phytology. Scientists who study botany are called botanists

KEY NOTE: Theophrastus is regarded as the Father of Botany.

BENEFITS OF GREEN PLANTS.

  1. Live indoor plantscapes demonstrate nature’s hearty resolve and process of cleaning surrounding air while exchanging it for fresh oxygen.
  2. Plants Contribute are Important to a Healthy Lifestyle.
  3. Carbon Dioxide Reduction. Based on modest estimates of existing and emerging data, it has been calculated that a minimum of 300g (10 oz) of carbon dioxide can be eliminated from the enclosed environment for every square meter of leaf surface in the area per year.
  4. Plants possess a natural ability to draw their system towards a light source, which can act as an indoor awning while producing a beautiful fluid effect across the space.
  5. With plant life visible from nearly every floor, the wall acts as an indoor air purifier, pulling air through the wall and into the mechanical air ducts.
